May Baking Checklist (2025)

May is here—and if your calendar looks anything like mine, it’s starting to feel like May-cember! With end-of-school activities, BBQs, and warmer weather, I’m leaning on easy bakes, freezer-friendly meals, and all things strawberry.
This month, I’ll be making my sourdough burger buns on repeat (or my one-hour sourdough discard burger buns when I need something fast), celebrating strawberry season, and keeping breakfast-for-dinner in the mix with crispy sourdough waffles and my favorite sourdough pancake mix.

I have been baking sourdough bread for a couple years and hated tossing out the discard. I was thrilled to come across Amybakesbread.com. I have made the strawberry cake several times and it’s a BIG hit every time! I made the blueberry lemon focaccia bread and it was amazing, also. I’m excited to try more recipes and share them.
